Compliance and Enforcement Procedures Course 12020

DESCRIPTION

This nine-day course consists of classroom and workshop instruction on the policies, regulations, documentation and procedures involved in carrying out compliance and enforcement responsibilities. Course instruction includes how to interpret regulations, how to investigate possible violations of regulations, how to write an Enforcement Investigation Report, and how to testify at an administrative hearing or trial of an alleged violation of a regulation.

OBJECTIVES

Given classroom instruction, materials and practical exercises, the participant will be able to:
  • Conduct an investigation within the agency’s authority and limitations to determine whether a violation of applicable regulations has occurred.
  • Interview possible witnesses to obtain information relevant to the investigation.
  • Determine which, if any, regulations may have been violated.
  • Write an effective and accurate Enforcement Investigation Report, including the recommendation of an appropriate penalty and the support for that penalty.
  • Process the Enforcement Investigation Report according to agency procedures.
  • Testify at an administrative hearing or trial in support of the Enforcement Investigation Report and the agency’s position.
  • Participants will demonstrate these skills in individual workshop exercises and through participation in a simulated enforcement investigation, including the actual preparation of an Enforcement Investigation Report.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is designed for Airworthiness and Operations Safety Inspectors, Airports Inspectors, Certification and Manufacturing Inspectors, and others with responsibilities for compliance and enforcement of regulations.
