DESCRIPTION

This 150-hour, 5-week intensive course is designed for non-native English speakers of low intermediate proficiency who work in the international aviation industry, particularly air traffic controllers and flight crews. The course aims to develop aviation language skills leading to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Pre-operational Level 3 proficiency rating. In addition to technical language skills development, sessions include a social program with group work, individual projects, and a social program with opportunities for general English practice.

OBJECTIVES

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
  • Understand and appropriately use basic aviation and air traffic vocabulary 
  • Listen to and understand accurately exchanges in a range of familiar and work related topics 
  • Interact using pronunciation and fluency sufficient for international aviation use 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

International participants with low intermediate English skills who need to activate and improve current English abilities.

Prerequisites: Ability to read, speak, write and understand English at a low intermediate level. A placement test may be administered.
