Aviation English Practicum: Course Materials 15006

DESCRIPTION

This is a 4-day course in which participants practice delivery of audio, video, and print materials from two 150-hour Aviation English courses to address Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary, Fluency, Comprehension, and Interaction to meet Language Proficiency Requirements in ICAO Doc. 9835.

OBJECTIVES

Successful participants will be able to:
  • Teach aviation English using FAA Aviation English course materials
  • Adapt materials as necessary to meet learning needs
  • Manage course delivery
  • Apply techniques for placement, progress and proficiency testing

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

ESL or aviation industry instructors who have successfully completed FAA Course 15005 and are planning to use FAA Aviation English course materials for the development of Aviation English training programs.

PREREQUISITES: Participants must have completed FAA Course 15005, Instructor Development: Aviation English.

COURSE OUTLINE
  • Overview of structure and content of FAA Aviation English course materials
  • Intensive practice using classroom exercises from FAA course materials to build language proficiencies in pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interaction
  • Practice adapting materials to meet language needs of participants
