Aviation English Practicum: Testing Course 15007

DESCRIPTION

This is a 1-day course in which participants practice delivery and interviewing skills in the administration of the Aviation Language Placement (ALP) Tests 1 & 2. Participants will apply rating skills developed in FAA Course 15005 to benchmark language skills of pilots and controllers for the purpose of determining training needs for program development, course placement, or progress assessment.

OBJECTIVES

Successful participants will be able to:
  • Administer the multiple choice ALP 1 Test
  • Interview using ALP 2 for the professional evaluation of language proficiency
  • Score/rate according to ICAO standards

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

ESL or aviation industry instructors who have successfully completed FAA Course 15005 and are planning to use FAA testing materials for benchmarking or placement assessments.

PREREQUISITES: Participants must have completed FAA Course 15005, Instructor Development: Aviation English.
