Aviation English Proficiency Rater: Refresher Workshop Course 15039

DESCRIPTION

This 3-day workshop is designed for those who are currently rating English language proficiency for placement or licensing purposes or have had previous rater training. It provides an overview of the updated International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) language testing criteria, a review of interviewing protocol and rating practices, and practice rating speech samples to ICAO standards.

OBJECTIVES

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
  • Conduct interviews to solicit speech samples for testing aviation English proficiency
  • Analyze and rate speech samples to ICAO standards

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

International aviation professionals with ICAO level 4 or higher English proficiency who need to recalibrate their English proficiency rating skills to ICAO standards.

PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of FAA Course 15005 Instructor Development: Aviation English or previous rater training.
