Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPS) (International) Course 15205

DESCRIPTION

This 3 1/2-day course defines the suspected unapproved parts policy of the agency. Included are procedures to identify suspected unapproved parts and investigative techniques that satisfy safety and enforcement responsibilities.

OBJECTIVES

  • Familiarize Inspectors with program vision, objectives and importance.
  • Provide an understanding of regulatory and statutory responsibilities for industry and FAA as they relate to the manufacture and maintenance of aircraft.
  • Provide guidance for the investigation of unapproved parts allegations.
  • Present methods for the removal of unapproved parts from the aviation system.
  • Demonstrate the benefit of teamwork and the need for clarity and conciseness in reporting.

Those involved in investigating and/or regulating suspected unapproved parts.
