DESCRIPTION

This 8-day course is designed for those specialists with an understanding of procedure development. This course will enhance their knowledge and understanding of criteria application as related to RNAV development using FAA Order 8260.54, Area Navigation (RNAV) Approach Construction Criteria. Training will consist of classroom instruction on applicable criteria and laboratory exercises to enhance understanding and application of criteria.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Develop instrument procedures using MANUAL evaluation methods in accordance with FAA Order 8260.48 (RNAV) criteria
  • Develop an RNAV procedure using MANUAL construction methods during a laboratory exercise
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

International commercial industry participants responsible for developing RNAV procedures using manual construction and evaluation methods who do not utilize the Instrument Approach Procedures Automated (IAPA) system

FAA & commercial participants responsible for developing RNAV procedures using MANUAL construction and evaluation methods who do not utilize the Instrument Approach Procedures Automated (IAPA) system

Prerequisites:
15300050 Introduction to Flight procedures or basic knowledge of procedures development.

  • Initial segments of an RNAV procedure
  • Intermediate segments of an RNAV procedure
  • Final segments of an RNAV procedure
  • Missed approach segments of an RNAV procedure
