Advanced Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Operations (PANS-OPS) using RNAV/GNSS/PBN/RNP - Course 15320002
|
DESCRIPTION An advanced program for instrument approach procedure design and promulgation focusing on advanced navigation methods. Includes: Area Navigation (RNAV), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Augmented GNSS, vertical navigation (VNAV), RNAV/GNSS/RNP departures, an introduction to performance based navigation (PBN) as applied to required navigation performance (RNP) and flight validation principles. The program covers recent amendments to criteria, proposed amendments and technical operation of systems. OBJECTIVES Using references the participants will be able to demonstrate:
The course is primarily directed to persons with prior training/experience in PANS-OPS based procedure design and to fill training needs for persons who will be involved in the design or evaluation of RNAV/GNSS/PBN based procedures. The course would be of significant benefit to persons managing organizations under which procedures are designed and promulgated, pilots - particularly those involved in flight inspection, and persons in related fields such as airport design, air traffic, charting, aircraft operation and other related disciplines. Prerequisites: FAA Course 15310001, Basic ICAO Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Operations (PANS-OPS) or FAA Course 15570, Basic ICAO Procedures for Air Navigation Services – Operations (PANS-OPS). Equivalent training from other sources is acceptable. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Students are highly encouraged to bring a laptop computer to the course. Electronic copies of relevant documents and reference material will be provided to each student. COURSE OUTLINE
