Establishing a Maintenance Certification Program (International) Course 15400

DESCRIPTION

This course provides training for technicians, engineers, and technical supervisory personnel on establishing a maintenance certification program. This course is 35 hours lecture, 4 hours lab, and 1 hour final exam. Lecture subjects include aviation concepts relating local facilities and airspace to air traffic operations and aircraft operations; general maintenance policies, philosophy and directives; certification program concepts, benefits, implementation, and directives; and the technical training program required to implement and sustain a maintenance personnel certification program.

OBJECTIVES

  • To identify maintenance management activities, administration, guidelines and responsibilities which will assist the international participant in developing and implementing a Maintenance Personnel Certification Program for his/her Civil Aviation Authority
  • To identify certification program objectives
  • To identify benefits of implementing a Maintenance Personnel Certification program to the CAA, the engineer/technician, and to the flying public
  • To identify the critical interrelationships which support a corporate maintenance philosophy, a technical training program, validation of technical maintenance expertise through performance testing, and a formal on-going certification program.
  • To develop a working knowledge of three FAA Directives relating to the FAA's Airway Facilities Maintenance Personnel Certification Program: 6000.15, 3400.3, 3000.10, and be able to use these three directives as a guide in establishing a certification program for his/her Civil Aviation Authority
