AIR TRAFFIC TRAINING ADMINISTRATION USING THE INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANIZATION (ICAO) STANDARDS AND RECOMMENDATIONS IN AIR TRAFFIC SERVICES DESCRIPTION This is a course in administrating air traffic training, using the standards and recommended practices of ICAO Annex 11; ICAO Doc. 9426, Part 4; ICAO Doc. 7192, Part D-2; and examples of applications of these documents. The course covers: the central elements of an air traffic training program, the requirements and responsibilities for developing and implementing an air traffic training program, and documentation protocols for tracking individual training. The training format includes lectures, interactive exercises, and a symposium for training administration ideas and problem-solving. WHO SHOULD ATTEND The intended audience for this course should include training specialists, training managers, and operational supervisors who have an interest in formalized air traffic training programs. Regional managers and facility managers might find this course of interest if a country’s air traffic service is still undeveloped. Countries with a mature air traffic training program might wish to use this course as an evaluative tool, using ICAO documents as a measurement of their own training programs.
