DESCRIPTION This 10-day course provides in-depth knowledge and skill in the duties involved in certificating an Approved Training Organization (ATO) from the perspective of an Operations Inspector. The course follows a “mock” ATO, seeking certification throughout the five-phase certification process. The certification process is based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and model aviation laws, regulations, and technical guidance. This course is designed for inspectors who are responsible for the issuance ATO certification and related activities. The course modules include: the phases involved in the certification of an approved training organization; the evaluation of an ATO Quality System Manual; the evaluation of an ATO Training Curriculum; and issuance of an ATO Certificate. The roles and responsibilities of government personnel involved in the certification process are also addressed. This is a performance-based course presented in traditional lectures in addition to student activities and mastery tests. OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
