DESCRIPTION This eight-day course is designed for aviation safety inspectors (ASI) and manufacturing inspectors. The course consists of classroom and workshop instruction on methods used to evaluate the effectiveness and value of aviation management systems. Course instruction includes types of organizations, organizational principles, company evaluation planning, management concepts, essentials of system design, methods of charting, problem/decision analysis, procedure analysis, block and linear responsibilities, interview techniques, identification of policy/procedures, and report preparation. OBJECTIVES Given classroom instruction and practical exercises on management theory, principles, concepts, functions, systems and analytical/persuasive tools, the inspector will be able to:
WHO SHOULD ATTEND Flight standards operations and airworthiness inspectors. To get the most from the course, the participant should have 2- 3 years in a Flight Standards office working with 135, 121 and 141-145 certificates. Prerequisites: 21909, Airworthiness Indoctrination for GA and Air Carriers; or 21028, Aviation Safety Inspectors Indoctrination (Airworthiness) - International Additionally, Inspectors should have three years of field experience.
